What a Year

I'll admit, it's been some months since I've updated the Blog, or uploaded any new products. Honestly, the good weren't getting much traction, and I had to focus on my life AFK.

Moving forward, I'll be uploading new designs as I have the time to work on them, and as I develop new styles and products.

Note: A lot of customers, as well as me, have had issues ordering products from Live Heroes. I'm leaving the links in place in case anyone wants to purchase these older designs, but moving forward I'll be using a new supplier for any printed products.

SS2016 Prints

Blasted 02, available in 12 different styles at LiveHeroes

Blasted 02, available in 12 different styles at LiveHeroes

Over the last several weeks I've been working to experiment with some left over ideas from Nov/Dec, as well as create some new ones. The results of which can now be seen on the LiveHeroes shop page (~140 new items).

It's my plan to continue working on new designs as an on going practice, but I'm going to attempt to publish larger batches, especially if they have an overall theme, as specific seasons, aligning with the overall fashion industry schedule. Ya know, because I might as well use SOMETHING I learned in college.

Thanks for your support, and feel free to 'like' any/all of the designs/products you enjoy over on the LiveHeroes site. It'll give me a little feedback as to what is working and what isn't.

New Prints Are Up!

It's been a few weeks. Since my last post, I've been working on getting some promotional items for a few people, so we can starting seeing these prints around town, so to speak. At the same time, I've been working on a few new styles to include before the end of the year (and boy, was I cutting it close): Monochrome and Forcefield.

Black Friday

So, this is the first time I've tried to market anything on my own on a Black Friday. It's been three years since I worked in a retail store, and I've been rather happy to not deal with the onslaught of customers this day brings. But, since I'm now trying to establish the Fairaday brand for once, I felt the need to participate in the BF sale that LiveHeroes is hosting. To that end, I've put together a series of small ads for Instagram/Tumblr/Twitter. And if anything, I'm happy that I've had a chance to put together some assets for marketing, as they'll probably come in handy later down the road.

Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun making prints and getting back into Photoshop and Illustrator. Hell, I've even sold a few things. And I know only one of the customers, so that's pretty awesome. I look forward to people enjoying the prints I'm creating.

Thank you everyone for your interest and support!

New Beginnings. Again.

Regarding williamfairaday.com:

So, I guess I'm pretty accustomed to completely overhauling my website about once a year. Hell, I've lost track of all of the variants I've had over the years. Well. Earlier this year, I let my domain expire and kinda gave up on posting at all. I had better things to do. Now, I'm actually going to try to update this blog regularly.

To that end, let me introduce myself. My name is William, and since about 1997, I've used the online alias of 'Fairaday'. Yes, I know it's misspelled. But at this point, I've stopped caring.

I live in the Bay Area, and work in Silicon Valley. Housing prices are horrible, but they have all the burritos you can eat.

I went to art school (for Fashion/Menswear) in SF, and in doing so, I've paid a lot of other people's money to be able to call myself a designer. When I say a lot, let's just say that when kids coming out of college complain about being $30k in debt, I laugh. Hard. And keep laughing.

Over the last few years, I've been slowly trying to get myself back into fashion, utilizing what I've learned in SV and the tech industry, as well as what I've discovered online. Which leads me to this site.

Recently, I began uploading glitch art work I've created over the last few years as print designs at Live Heroes. Honestly, it's a lot of fun to finally see designs I've created as prints, even if they're just mock ups. And last week, someone bought a dress of one of my prints. It was a pretty fantastic feeling, to know that something I created is going to be a real, physical product. Which leads me to this site.

Going forward, I'll be posting some of the sample images of designs I've recently uploaded to this site, in the front page gallery. I really hope everyone enjoys the art. I'm having a lot of fun making it. And please feel free to order something. I've gotta pay down those loans some how.

PS: sorry for the super boring intro. I've spent all day trying to figure out how this site should look, and I'm feeling a bit fried. I'll post more later.
